FUSE and partner agencies came together to form the primary direct response network to human trafficking in North Dakota by creating the North Dakota Human Trafficking Task Force, (“NDHTTF”). The NDHTTF was founded in 2015, and is a federally-funded partnership between CAWS North Dakota, the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the United States Attorney’s Office of North Dakota. The NDHTTF coordinates proactive law enforcement responses and offers comprehensive services to those affected by trafficking through a statewide network of community-based teams. These teams are coordinated by a Regional Navigator, who is the primary point of contact for connecting potential victims with services in their area. The Navigators also serve as regional experts on trafficking, and provide training and ongoing technical assistance.
